MACARONS

Prep/Cooking Time: 15-30 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 112g Desiccated coconut
  • 70g Sugar
  • 30g Flour
  • 1g Salt
  • 2 Egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 60g Dark chocolate

Instructions

  • Place all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl
  • Using a spatula mix together well so all ingredients are incorporated into a thick but crumbly paste
  • Once well mixed spoon the mix onto a lined baking sheet
  • Place in a pre heated oven at 180c for 10-12 minutes
  • Once cooker they should be golden on the outside but softer in the middle
  • Leave to cool naturally
  • When the macarons are nearly cool melt the chocolate over a steam bath
  • Once melted and the macarons are cool dip them into the chocolate and place on a tray to set
  • Serve immediately or keep in an air tight container till needed
