CLASSIC SAUSAGE AND MASH

Ingredients

  • 2 Breakfast sausages
  • 150g Potatoes
  • 10g Butter
  • 25g Cream
  • Salt 
  • Pepper
  • 5g Flour
  • 20ml Milk
  • 5g Grain mustard

Instructions

  • Peel the potatoes and place in a pan of boiling salted water
  • Cook the potatoes till tender
  • Remove from the heat and strain off the water
  • Mince the potatoes and add to them the butter and cream
  • Mix well and season to taste
  • Reserve till needed 
  • Heat a fry pan with a little oil
  • Add to the pan the sausages and fry till golden (cook in the oven if needed)
  • For the sauce melt the butter in the pan and add to it the flour
  • Cook till bubbling then add the milk little by little till it is all absorbed and the sauce is creamy
  • Add the grain mustard to the pan and mix well
  • To serve spoon the mash onto the dish and top with the sausages 
  • Finish with the grain mustard sauce
