CHURROS

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 eggs beaten
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Place the water and butter in a thick bottomed pan
  • Bring to the boil and remove from the heat
  • In a machine mixing bowl place the flour, baking powder and salt
  • Place on the mixer and add the water to the flour and whisk together
  • Crack the eggs into a bowl and remove any shell
  • Break the eggs with a fork
  • Once the flour and water mix has combined slowly add the egg
  • Mix till well incorporated 
  • Once completed transfer to a piping bag with a medium star nozzle
  • When ready to serve pipe the batter into 4" long pieces
  • Cook till golden brown
  • Remove from the oil and drain
  • Combine the sugar and cinnamon
  • Toss the churros in the cinnamon sugar and serve immediately with chocolate sauce
