APPLE CRUMBLE TOPPING

Ingredients

  • 1200g Plain flour
  • 500g Sugar
  • 200g Oats
  • 800g Butter

Instructions

  • Place the flour, butter and sugar into a mixing bowl
  • Add to the bowl the diced cold butter
  • Place the bowl onto the machine and begin to mix on the lowest setting
  • After a few minutes the mix will look like crumbs, at this point remove from the machine
  • (be sure not to over mix as a firm dough will form)
  • Spread the mix evenly over a papered tray ready to go in the oven
  • Bake in a pre-heated oven at 160c for 20 minutes or until golden in colour
  • Once cooked remove from the oven and leave to go cold naturally
  • Once completely cold break the mix apart into a crumble
  • Store in an air tight container at room temperature
