APPLE CRUMBLE FILLING

Ingredients

  • 20 Small red apples
  • 60g Butter
  • 200g Sugar
  • 80g Raisins
  • 2 Tsp Cinammon
  • 6 Cloves

Instructions

  • Peel the apples and remove the cores by cutting into quarters
  • Once the core is removed cut the quarters into 8 pieces each
  • Place the cut apples into a thick bottomed pan
  • Add to the pan the butter, sugar and spices
  • Place the pan over a low gas and bring to the simmer
  • Once the butter is melted and the juices are starting to bubble add the raisins
  • Turn the heat down as low as possible and leave to simmer for around 20 minutes
  • After 20 minutes check to see if the apples are tender
  • If they are tender remove from the heat and pour onto a tray to cool
  • Leave to cool but once cold place in the fridge till needed
