APPLE CHUTNEY

Ingredients

  • 800g Apple
  • 250g Onion
  • 200g Soft brown sugar
  • 500g White wine vinegar
  • 120g White sugar
  • 8 Sticks thyme
  • 5 Cloves
  • 1/2 Cinnamon stick

Instructions

  • Peel and core the apples
  • Cut the apples into cm cubes
  • Place the apples in a thick bottomed pan
  • Add to the apples all the remaining ingredients
  • Bring to the boil over a medium heat
  • Simmer the apples until all liquid has evaporated
  • Remove from the heat and season if necessary
  • Leave to cool naturally
  • Reserve in the fridge till needed
